Parties

Whether you’re planning a small gathering of friends or a large corporate event we think you’ll find The Broken Rack a great place for a party. Celebrate a birthday, anniversary or retirement here and it will be our pleasure to buy the guest of honor’s first drink. By reserving various parts of our room, we can accommodate up to 100 guests, except on Friday and Saturday nights, when we usually book only smaller parties of 30 or less. Groups of 100 to 200 would require closing the room to the public, which we do not promote, but have done on a few special occasions in the past.

General Terms & Conditions

All guests must be 21 & over.

No outside food other than special occasion cakes allowed. A cake fee may apply.

Outside beverages - by special arrangement only. A corkage fee will apply.

An 18% gratuity and sales tax will be added to food charges. Bar charges include sales tax but are also subject to 18% gratuity.

Deposit – In lieu of cash deposit a credit card number will be required to secure an event reservation. Nothing will be charged to the card before the end of the event unless a cancellation fee is incurred.
Cancellation may be made without fee up to 72 hours prior to the scheduled event. After that a cancellation fee equal to one hour rent and 50% of the food order will be charged to the credit card submitted as deposit.

Payment in full is due at the end of the event by credit card or cash. If by credit card, the credit card should be available to be swiped.

Space
Groups of up to 20 that don’t intend to play pool can be seated in our atrium for drinks and (during kitchen hours) appetizers and meals ordered from our regular menu (see bar and grill page for more info). Groups of up to 20 also have the option of renting our Corner Pocket Lounge—usually open to all customers—for their private use. The Corner Pocket has a sofa and love seat, assorted tables and chairs and a 50” HD TV. It rents for $25 an hour. For pool playing or accommodating more guests, the Corner Pocket can be rented together with whatever number of adjacent pool tables the group requires.

Pool
Pool is a game almost anyone can play to some degree and enjoy. It promotes interaction and socialization among guests and it’s just plain fun! Parties reserve the number of tables they expect to need in the part of the room they prefer and pay the same, prorated rate other customers pay. This way, if a party finds they need fewer tables than anticipated, they can release the unnecessary tables and stop paying rent on them. Or, if more tables are wanted and available, they can easily be added.

Party with a Pro?
Some groups find that hiring an experienced player like our House Pro, Eleanor Callado, to give a demonstration, offer instruction or run a tournament, adds to the fun of the event. Currently the rate for this service is $75 an hour with a two hour minimum.

Bar Service
We offer 12 beers on tap, numerous bottled beers and a full bar with a wide selection of top shelf liquors. Some groups schedule their events to take advantage of Happy Hour, 5 to 7 pm Monday through Thursday and 4 to 7 pm Fridays. During Happy Hour no draft beer is more than $3 a pint and there is a $1 discount on glasses of wine and drinks from our seasonal special drink menu. Bar arrangements can vary from no-host (everyone pays for their own drinks) to hosted (the host pays for all drinks). There are many choices in between. The number of drinks charged by each guest to the host’s tab can be limited by number (using drink tickets) or by type of drink (beer and wine only, for example) or a combination of the above. Our bar prices include sales tax but parties will be charged an automatic gratuity of 18%.

Food
Very small groups may order off the regular menu (during kitchen hours), but groups of 15 or more are strongly advised to order in advance from the catering menu below. An 18% gratuity and sales tax will be added to the food order.

Music Music at The broken Rack is provided by an internet jukebox, providing you with the opportunity to listen to the music you want to hear.

Decorations
You’re free to bring in balloons, streamers, etc. Only tape on the walls and confetti are not allowed. If you’d like us to order balloons, flowers, etc, we’ll do so for a modest service fee.

Half & Half Tray/Large only $65.00
A good choice for small groups seeking a variety, this tray is half vegetables, half fruit.

Fillers
These items are best eaten hot from the kitchen. A good last minute addition if you find you haven’t ordered enough food and still have hungry people you want to satisfy economically. Also a good choice for a group coming in for a couple of after work beers that doesn’t want to order an elaborate buffet.

Entrée
Cheese Tortellini with Pesto Sauce.....$120.00 for 30 people Served with Garlic bread and Tossed Green Salad.


We offer this for hosts who want to serve something similar to a traditional complete meal. The pasta, bread and salad are intended to serve as the core of such a meal with appetizers and/or fruit/vegetable trays to round out the menu.

An 18% gratuity and sales tax will be added to all catering orders.

An * after a catering menu choice indicates an item that also appears on our regular menu. Additional trays of these items can be ordered during the course of an event.

Most frequently asked question: “How many people will each tray feed?” The answer is—it depends. It depends on how many different kinds of trays you are ordering, the time of day, and your guests (you know your friends or co-workers better than we do, but we will be glad to help you guess how much they might eat). The number of pieces on each tray has been indicated where possible. Also, as noted above, you have the flexibility of being able to order additional trays of some items.
